Reverse the “brain-drain” – help retain Hawaii’s smartest and most promising students, in Hawaii. Encourage and assist Hawaii’s youth from historically underprivileged areas to complete educations in science and engineering, and help them pursue high-paying, high-tech careers in Hawaii. Foster a commitment among Hawaii’s high-tech business community to identify and provide internships for promising students while they study in the university, and high-tech careers after they graduate. Encourage local engineers and scientists to take an active role in mentoring and guiding younger students who are contemplating high-tech careers in Hawaii.
